For its 2025 presentation at Untitled Art, Miami, LATITUDE Gallery is proud to showcase works by Los Angeles–based artist Iris Yehong Mao and Beijing–based artist Liane Chu.

The presentation brings together two distinct yet resonant practices, each engaging with abstraction, perception, and emotion through their own material and conceptual languages. Together, their works offer a contemplative space where inner experience and the outer world intertwine in luminous and imaginative forms.

Iris Yehong Mao (b. 1976, Shanghai, China) creates kaleidoscopic paintings that depict otherworldly landscapes and visionary gardens, improvised and intuitively developed through the process of painting. Her compositions seem to hover between abstraction and representation—landscapes that appear ready to take form only to dissolve again into ethereal gestures, like a dream slipping from memory. Mao’s work evokes a state of transience and transformation, offering viewers a visual meditation on impermanence and the act of seeing itself.

Liane Chu (b. 1997, China) received her master’s degree from the School of Experimental Art and Technology Art at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In her Normal and Abnormal series, Chu constructs multidimensional compositions that probe the relationship between selfhood, media, and modern perception. Her intricate use of color and texture animates silent yet vivid forms—hybrids of the organic and the synthetic—that seem to pulse with inner vitality.

Together, Mao and Chu’s works embody LATITUDE Gallery’s commitment to fostering cross-cultural dialogues and experimental approaches in contemporary art. Their practices resonate through contrasts of stillness and movement, clarity and ambiguity—marking LATITUDE’s 2025 return at Untitled Art, Miami, as a celebration of imagination, healing, and transformation across borders and disciplines.
