Wendy Wei b. 2000

Wendy Wei (b. 2000) is a New York-based artist. She received her BA from Colby College in 2023 and is currently an MFA candidate at School of Visual Arts. Wei was born in Vancouver, Canada, and grew up in Shenzhen, China. Her practice depicts the evolving relationship of family and homeland. Her autobiographical work imagines and recreates scenarios in which she pokes fun at herself, grappling with internal conflicts, authenticity, and hidden desires. She has her work shown at Colby College Museum of Art, Chinese American Arts Council (Gallery 456), LATITUDE Gallery and Helm Contemporary.
