Yutong Yin China
Yutong Yin is a contemporary Chinese artist currently living and working in Paris. In 2019, she moved to France to begin her artistic studies. In 2022, she studied printmaking in the studio of Anke Vrijs, and in 2023, she obtained her Master’s degree in Fine Arts from University of Strasbourg.
Her practice spans painting, printmaking, and mixed media, including oil painting and installation. Shaped by a cross-cultural educational background, her work increasingly focuses on questions of “human presence” and how existence manifests within images.
She approaches portraiture as an open space: the figures depicted do not refer to specific identities, but instead question modes of perception and viewing, exploring the tension between what appears and what remains elusive. Through the handling of brushwork, light, and pictorial space, she constructs a perceptual field that invites viewers to experience their own presence within it.
