LATITUDE Gallery New York is proud to announce its relocation to a new space at 5 Lispenard Street, Tribeca, and to inaugurate this chapter with the group exhibition Birth of the Between: The Infinite Interchange, curated by Neil Jiang. The exhibition will open on September 12th, 2025, and marks the gallery’s expansion after five years in Manhattan’s Chinatown.

Art exists in the “in-between” — a space where boundaries dissolve, opposites collide, and new perspectives emerge. Inspired by the Taoist principle “One gives birth to Two, Two gives birth to Three, and Three gives birth to all things,” this group exhibition explores the dynamic tension and harmony found in transition and transformation.

Bringing together a distinguished roster of artists — Chando Ao, Ji Won Cha, Xinyi Cheng, Yuan Fang, Owen Fu, Xintong Gao, Shuling Guo, Wenhui Hao, Yirui Jia, Alice Ningci Jiang, Kan Hung-Ju, Ho Jae Kim, Xian Kim, Heidi Li, Nianxin Li, Yanjun Li, Tiantian Lou, Yanqing Pei, Anna Jung Seo, Shi Chengdong, Tan Mu, Yongqi Tang, Daniel Um, Wang Chao, Minghui Wei, Lingrou Xie, Zhang Shangfeng, Tianshu Zhang, Yesiyu Zhao, and Jesse Zuo— the show spans abstract painting, conceptual installation, and surreal imagery.

It celebrates hybridity and interconnectedness, examining “The Between” as a liminal space where cultural identities, artistic practices, and human emotions intertwine. Here, the creative process becomes a metaphor for balance, chaos, and renewal, echoing the Taoist belief that opposites coexist to create infinite possibility.

Each artist contributes a unique vision shaped by personal and cultural histories. Asian artists working in Western contexts often trace dual identities through gestures of fluidity, adaptation, and transformation. Western participants offer complementary perspectives, expanding the dialogue across traditions and geographies. Together, their works form a conversation that transcends boundaries of place, style, and heritage.

Ranging from vivid, surreal landscapes to minimalist interventions and poetic conceptual pieces, the exhibition reflects a core idea: that creation thrives in interchange and tension, where no single side dominates but both generate something entirely new.

Birth of the Between: The Infinite Interchange invites audiences into this convergent space — where East meets West, tradition meets innovation, and individuality resonates within the collective — to reflect on the infinite ways art connects us, and to celebrate the beauty and power of differences coming together.
